Louisiana Congressman Clay Higgins announced yesterday that South Louisiana waterway projects received significant funding in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers FY 2022 Work Plan.
“We continue to work closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and local stakeholders to prioritize funding for dredging and waterway projects in South Louisiana,” said Congressman Higgins.
“Notably, the FY22 Work Plan includes $50 million for Vermilion River dredging, and the Calcasieu River and Pass project saw a sizable increase in funding over the President’s budget request. These investments provide critical support for our ports, waterways, locks, and flood control infrastructure across South Louisiana.”
