Titan successfully delivered around 350 tonnes of LNG to the dredging vessel Vox Ariane at the Greenport Terminal in Eemshaven, Rotterdam, last week.
The giant vessel is a 10,500 cubic metres trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD), owned by Van Oord.
“It is the first hopper in Van Oord’s fleet equipped with an LNG fuel system and an outstanding example of Van Oord’s sustainable ambitions,” said Titan.
Recently delivered by Keppel Offshore & Marine, the TSHD is the first dual-fuel dredger built in Singapore and the first of three identical dredgers that Keppel O&M is building for Van Oord.
Built to the requirements of the International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) Tier III regulations, the Dutch flagged dredger includes several features that considerably reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Also, the TSHD incorporates innovative and sustainable systems and has obtained the Green Passport and Clean Ship Notation by Bureau Veritas.
