Dutra’s dredgers Paula Lee and Harry S. are busy working on the latest Cape Canaveral Operations and Maintenance Project for the USACE Jacksonville District.
The O&M dredging contract, combining the Canaveral Harbor civil works project along with the Canaveral NOTU project, was award in September 2021 with construction work scheduled to complete the summer of 2022.
It is planned that approximately 771,000 cubic yards of material will be removed from within the civil works project limits.
Additionally, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2022 (P.L. 117-58) appropriated $15,000,000 for the Canaveral Harbor civil works project.
The team is anticipating awarding a follow on dredging contract in early FY23 to remove approximately 1,000,000 cubic yards of material.
