The annual dredging of the Tootgarook Boat Ramp and entrance channel have been completed successfully, according to the Victorian Regional Channels Authority.
This two-lane boat ramp, which is managed by the Capel Sound Foreshore and located opposite Burdett Street in Tootgarook, is open year-round for launching.
This requires yearly dredging and ongoing mechanical removal of sand from the ramp to allow safe, easy access to Port Phillip Bay.
As reported by VRCA, dredging works were carried out by a long reach excavator with the disposal of dredged material near the Tootgarook boat ramp.
