The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, marked the start of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funded Bank Stabilization Navigation Project (BSNP) repair contracts along the Missouri River earlier this week in Atchison.
This event signified the start of the first of four BIL funded repair contracts.
W.A. Ellis Construction, USACE’s first contractor for the project, placed rock on the opposite side of the riverbank to represent the start of construction during the celebration (see the barge in the background):
Officials from W.A. Ellis Construction, Michels Corporation, Newt Marine Service, Midwest Construction, Coalition to Protect the Missouri River, Missouri River Towing, Transport 360, etc. attended the event.
