The Green Climate Fund (GCF) has just released a very interesting video named ‘Protecting communities in the Nile Delta from coastal flooding’.
By supporting the Government of Egypt to upscale a local, ecosystem-based approach to coastal management, GCF and UNDP, are improving the climate resilience of vulnerable communities in the North Coast and Nile Delta regions.
The Nile Delta is among the top three most vulnerable regions in the world, according to the IPCC.
The Delta faces the threat of flooding of low-lying coastlines from sea level rise and increased intensity and frequency of storm events.
