According to the Corps and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, the 2023 Avalon beach nourishment project concluded shortly before 9:00pm on Friday, May 12th.

Nearly 600,000 cubic yards of new sand was pumped onto the Avalon north end beachfront during this project.
Over the next several days, demobilization will occur and heavy equipment will leave the beach. However, the dredge “Texas” remains in Townsend’s Inlet to conduct Stone Harbor’s beach fill project.
