A keel laying ceremony for new CSD650 took place earlier this week at the Song Thu shipyard in Vietnam.
The standard cutter suction dredger (CSD) will be built locally, making use of the dredge package from ????? ???????? ?????????.
The new dredger will have a dredging depth of -22m, a production of 7,000 m3/h and a total installed power of 2,960 kW.
According to Damen, the dredge pump is positioned in a separate pump room in this case.
The engine room with the diesel engine together with the hydraulic and electrical installations is completely isolated from the mixture piping.
The total power installed is more than adequate to ensure that all equipment can be used independently and simultaneously, said Damen.
