Boskalis has been active Down Under for many years in keeping a number of Australia’s ports accessible for the world’s largest vessels.

In 2008 and 2009, for example, their mega trailing suction hopper dredger Queen of the Netherlands deepened the access channel to the Port of Melbourne, which is the country’s largest capital city container and general cargo port, handling more than a third of the country’s container trade.

Dredging work is routinely conducted in Port Phillip to ensure the safe passage of ships visiting the port.

Recently, Boskalis’ trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Gateway was very busy working in these areas, keeping the port accessible to the world’s largest ships.
