According to the Department of Defense, work consists of maintenance dredging of approximately 2.7 million cubic yards of sediment within the Delaware River, Philadelphia to Sea main navigation channel (between Stations 117+000 and 237+500).
This includes hydraulic dredging with placement of the dredged material into the Pedricktown, Killcohook, Artificial Island and/or Reedy Point disposal areas.
The estimated completion date for the project is March 1, 2024.
