Maintenance dredging is needed to remove the collection of accumulated sediment and to restore the harbor to its authorized depth so that vessels may safely enter, exit, and maneuver within the harbor, USACE said.
Work is to be performed by a contractor, Camenzind Dutra JV LLC and is anticipated to take approximately one month to complete.
A community meeting will take place prior to the start of work. The Army Core of Engineers said that they will provide a project update after the new year.
