The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) has completed maintenance dredging of the Noel “Breeze” Boynes Car Ferry Dock in Red Hook, St. Thomas.

The project contractor, Divic-Madou Enterprises completed the 10-day job in just three days. The dredging was performed at night and did not interrupt ferry operations.

The Boynes Car Ferry Dock in Red Hook is primarily used by three barge companies that provide daily, scheduled transportation for cargo and vehicles between St. John and St. Thomas.

The maintenance dredging removed sand and sediment build-up at the dock to improve safety conditions for the vessels that use the facility.
