The maintenance dredging operations at the Port of Rio Grande, Brazil, are moving forward according to schedule.

At the moment, the project is 73% finalized, Correio do Povo reports.

So far, the trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Utrecht removed two million cubic meters of sediments from the access channel.

All dredged material is being deposited in an area licensed by IBAMA, and the work is being conducted in accordance with the environmental standards established by federal law.

The maintenance dredging initiative started in November.

This very important dredging program is set to be completed by the end of January.
