Weeks wins $62M dredging deal in Alabama

Weeks Marine Inc., from Covington, Louisiana, has won a $62 million firm-fixed-price contract for a harbor deepening and widening work in Alabama. Bids were solicited via the internet with three received, according to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Work will be performed in Irvington, Alabama

Weeks Marine Inc., from Covington, Louisiana, has won a $62 million firm-fixed-price contract for a harbor deepening and widening work in Alabama.

Bids were solicited via the internet with three received, according to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

Work will be performed in Irvington, Alabama, with an estimated completion date of January 30, 2025.

“ Fiscal 2020 civil construction funds and fiscal 2023 civil operation and maintenance funds in the amount of $62,055,622 were obligated at the time of the award ,” DoD said.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is the contracting activity.
