Maintenance dredging works on the Newhaven Port’s Outer and Inner Harbour are underway.

The dredging operations are being carried out by the Royal Boskalis Westminster Group trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Causeway.

The works will involve frequent passages from the Harbour to the Disposal Ground, situated approximately 1 mile south of Newhaven Breakwater Lighthouse.

According to Newhaven Port, the TSHD will exhibit lights and shapes in accordance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.

The dredging work is expected to last for 14 days (weather permitting).
