The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony took place during Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s meeting with the residential community of GA. Villingili Island yesterday.
The development of Villingili International Airport was contracted to NV Besix SA .
According to the MoU, a tourism development program would be initiated alongside the development of the airport project. It includes the development of an integrated tourism zone.
As for the Villingili International Airport, the President said that new land will be reclaimed to implement this project.
Dr Abdulla Muththalib, the Minister of Construction and Infrastructure, signed the MoU on behalf of the Government of Maldives, and Servè Dolmans, the Business Development Manager of NV Besix SA, signed the document on behalf of the contractor.
