The work is expected to take one week to complete.
“ A section of the beach at Greenhill Gardens will be closed to allow heavy machinery to operate safely. Pedestrian access to the promenade may also be disrupted ,” said the council.
The works will be managed by Dorset Council’s Highways team, and the delivery of rock will be done via the promenade from Brunswick Terrace.
Without this maintenance work, the foundations of the seawall could be undermined by the action of the waves which in turn would cause significant damage to the promenade over time, said the council.
