According to DEME Group, the company’s Italian team is currently working hard on the extension of the commercial port in Augusta, Sicily, building on significant progress made last year.
The recent installation of the combi-wall marks another major step forward in this port construction project.
The new container terminal, being built by the Consorzio Infrastructure, will offer an increased capacity as well as improved marine access and upgraded yard equipment, including an expanded reefer plug capacity.
This project will not only increase capacity but also position the Port of Augusta as a key player in the Mediterranean region.
