A maintenance dredging project in Liverpool Marina has commenced to return sediment that enters through the lock and impounding pumps back to the River Mersey.
For this project, Humber Work Boats Limited brought in their 12″ cutter suction dredger, the John M.
In order to maintain the desired water levels in the area, the contractor will remove approximately 25,000m3 of sediment from the marina.
The dredger will pump the material through a pipeline which is laid across Brunswick Dock, the adjacent quayside and into the River Mersey’s designed placement location.
