TasPorts said that the work on seabed levelling in the Port of Burnie is underway.

According to their official statement, these works are part of TasPorts’ short-term dredge management approach for the Port of Burnie to maintain the port’s declared depths.

The program, which started yesterday, is being carried out near at berths 5, 6 and 9 and is expected to take around three weeks to complete.

TasPorts said that the works are being done from a dredging barge on the surface of the water and is not expected to impact on port users and will work around scheduled shipping.
