PC Marine Services has just released the latest update on the massive marine works at the Jeddah Islamic Port on the Red Sea Coast.

Construction of new berths (from 26 to 31) at the port is moving ahead according to schedule.

Demolition and removal of berths and services from berth 26 to berth 31 are also underway.

Deepening work at the southeastern basin and in front of the berths from 26 to 31 at a depth of (-14.5 m) is in full swing, PC Marine said.

Two years ago, the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) inked two contracts worth about $171 million for deepening and building of new berths at the port.

The first deal was signed with Jeddah-based PC Marine to build two 16 meter deep, 1,100 meter long berths at JIP’s multi-cargo terminals to accommodate large bulk grain carriers.

The second contract with local contractors Modern Building Leaders and Huta Hegerfeld Saudia is set to deepen harbor approach channels, turning basins, waterways and the South Terminal basin.

The project will be completed in 2025.
