VOSTA LMG has received an order to convert a mining cutter suction dredger (CSD) from diesel to electric drive.
Under the contract, all diesel engines will be replaced by electric motors and their drives, all suitable for the extreme climate conditions at the mine site.
“ The conversion will be done at the mine site in close co-operation with our partner BADR Marine ,” VOSTA LMG said.
This dredge was designed and delivered by VOSTA LMG in 2006 and has operated successfully since then.
“ Now still in very good shape, it shall be optimized even further with this electrification and including a new automation system. The dredge will work in conjunction with the VOSTA LMG automated, electric boosters already under construction in Jordan ,” said the company.
