Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said that maintenance and dredging works at Gul Basin and West Jurong Channel for ST Engineering Marine Ltd will be ongoing from this week until the end of August 2024.
Dredging operations will be carried out by a grab dredger which will be held in position by four anchors.
“ The dredged materials will be loaded onto hopper barges. Pusher tugboat will push the loaded hopper barge to the designated dumping ground to dispose the dredged materials ,” said MPA.
A circular safe working area of 70 meters radius centered from the dredger is set to be maintained during the working hours.
According to MPA, a safety boat will be in attendance at all times to warn and direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.
