The City of D’Iberville has filed notice of a proposed dredging project which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.
The applicant is proposing to dredge approximately 4,420 cubic yards of material from Fountain Pier Bayou in Back Bay area in D’Iberville, MS.
The Coastal Zone Management Act establishes a voluntary national program within the Department of Commerce to encourage coastal States to develop and implement coastal zone management plans.
Activities that affect coastal zones must be consistent with approved State programs.
The deadline for submitting comments or objections to the proposed dredging plan is July 23, 2024.
