Time for the next Port Geographe dredging campaign

Maintenance dredging works are set to begin at the entrance to the Port Geographe Marina and will proceed until approximately early January 2025. Maintenance dredging works are set to begin at the entrance to the Port Geographe Marina and will proceed until approximately early January 2025.

According to the Department of Transport (DoT), Western Australia, dredging will mainly occur Monday to Friday between the hours of 0700 and 1800hrs, with provision to take place during hours of darkness if required.

The works are being carried out by the cutter suction dredge “Cooper II”, equipped with floating pipelines & submerged pipelines to a length of 1.2km.

Approximately 20,000m3 of sediment and sand are dredged from the channel annually to ensure navigability.
