The City of Port Phillip, Victoria, has contracted AW Maritime (AWM) to provide design and planning consultancy services for the renourishment of Middle Park Beach.
Middle Park Beach, located in Bunurong Sea Country, is a major recreational and foreshore asset cherished by residents and the wider metropolitan community.
The renourishment project aims to enhance this popular public open space with a sustainable solution through a coastal process study with storm wave modelling.
Project manager Angela Gregore stated “ Our team at AW Maritime is dedicated to employing environmentally friendly practices and innovative engineering solutions to protect and rejuvenate Middle Park Beach. We are honored to have been selected for this project again and look forward to delivering exceptional results that align with the community’s needs and expectations .”
Over the years, Middle Park Beach has faced erosion from longshore coastal processes and storm events. The renourishment project is essential to maintaining the beach’s integrity and the protection of important assets such as a significant road, popular shared pathway and a beachside restaurant.
