Louisiana CPRA has just released this beautiful video update about the Grand Isle Beach and Dune Restoration Project.
Grand Isle, the state’s only inhabited barrier island, was badly damaged by Hurricane Ida, and this work will restore four miles of beach and dunes.
When finished, it will add an extra layer of protection for the residents against future storms.
This partnership between the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, the Town of Grand Isle, and CPRA is set to help preserve this unique area of Louisiana’s coast for future generations to enjoy.
