Mike Hooks LLC of Westlake, Louisiana, has won a $16.2 million USACE contract for the Atchafalaya River maintenance dredging work.
According to the Army Corps, work will be performed in Berwick, Louisiana, with an estimated completion date of October 15, 2025.
The work consists of satisfactory removal and disposal of shoal material from the Atchafalaya River, Bayous Chene, Boeuf and Black, Bayou Chene and Avoca Island Cutoff.
Dredging will be performed using hydraulic (cutterhead) dredging techniques and includes removal of approximately 5,000,000 CY of dredge material from the waterways.
