The final deliveries of sand related to the North Beach replenishment project are now complete, according to the City of San Clemente (CA).
A total of 37,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand have been sourced from the Santa Ana River and delivered to North Beach.
The emergency sand placement will enhance public recreation opportunities while also serving to bolster the function of the sandy beach as a natural buffer to protect critical public infrastructure and existing structures.
The sandy beach functions as critical, natural infrastructure and is an important public recreational amenity requiring regular maintenance to perform optimally. This project represents the first phase of the City’s 50-year federal sand project.
