The rock armor, sourced from Glensanda Quarry in Scotland, is a mix of large stones (3-6 tonnes, 300kg-1 tonne, and 15-30kg) to effectively defend against the North Sea’s relentless forces.
Transported via boat and barge, approximately 1,000 tonnes of aggregate were delivered twice daily to the East Coast.
Funded by a £25 million investment from the Environment Agency, North Norfolk Council, Anglian Water, and Mundesley Parish Council, the project will span 12-18 months.
