According to the Army Corps, the proposed project is continued operation and maintenance (O&M) dredging and placement associated with the authorized Federal navigation project at Bayou Coden.
The project calls for the excavation of approximately 80,000 cubic yards of silts and sands over a five year period. The proposed dredging action would be performed with a tolerance of up to 2 feet of advanced maintenance plus 2 feet of overdepth dredging.
The method of dredging will be via a hydraulic dredge or a mechanical dredge.
The deadline for sending comments on the Bayou Coden dredging project is October 30, 2024.
