Work is ongoing to reinforce the groyne with large armour rocks, ensuring it continues to provide protection for rec boaters and other users such as commercial fishers and emergency services.
Dredging is also on the go to remove sand and sediment at the ramp to make it easier to get out at a range of tides.
East Gippsland Shire Council scored a pair of Recreational Boating Grants to make it all happen. The dredging will take about a fortnight, while the groyne work is expected to be finished in early December.
While the project is on the go, the ramp lane farthest from the rock groyne remains open so users can head out to fish, dive, or simply enjoy being on the water in this stunning corner of the state.
