Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company is wrapping up work on the beach nourishment project at Andy Bowie Park in Texas.
According to the Cameron County Parks and Recreation, the beach profile at Andy Bowie Park has been successfully widened, enhancing the overall beach experience.
The project is being executed in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Texas General Land Office, and the City of South Padre Island.
Currently, the City of South Padre Island is completing their renourishment project where approximately 235,500 cubic yards of beach quality sand is being placed inside city limits.
In total, Cameron County will receive over 75,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand to be placed at Andy Bowie Park between the Hilton Garden Inn and Cameron County Beach Access No.3.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed before the end of November.
