Curtin Maritime, Corp. has just announced the successful completion of San Juan Harbor dredging and deepening project.
The company thanked all team members and partners for helping Curtin achieve another huge milestone with dredge vessel DB Avalon in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.
During her stay in Puerto Rico, the DB Avalon removed around 3 million cubic yards of silt and sand to open the San Juan Bay to larger vessels.
This massive project included deepening of the Anegado and Army Terminal canals, widening of the Army Terminal canal, and the expansion of the San Antonio canal.
Thanks to dredging, the San Juan Harbor is now capable of handling larger vessels, thus supporting the growing global and local economy.
