Cashman Dredging was recently contracted by the Army Corps to remove shoaled material in the Kennebec River Channel.

The Cashman’s dredge “the Mighty Quinn” is currently performing maintenance dredging of the Kennebec River. This work is performed every 2-3 years and is funded by the U.S. Navy.

The work consists of hydraulically dredging sand waves from the Kennebec River to 31 feet contract depth plus 2 feet of over depth (33 feet total depth).

Maintenance of the Kennebec River at this location allows for U.S. Navy ships to navigate down river from Bath Iron Works.
