A maintenance dredging project at the Clutesi Haven Marina is almost complete.
This project is targeting the removal of sediment between D float and the mouth of Kitsuksis Creek, Port Alberni Port Authority said.
The officials hired the barge and excavation team from B. Berry Enterprises and Timberrose Tug and Barge to help deal with silt building up in these areas.
The last time dredging took place was in January 2020, right before the COVID-19 pandemic was declared.
According to the Authority, the project started last week and will last around 6-7 days, depending on volume and tides. Also, there will be an environmental monitor on site.
