According to the KHM Portsmouth, the areas primarily to be focused on during this campaign include the harbour itself and its approach channels.
The contractor for the works will be using Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD) “SOSPAN DAU’’ (LOA 72.8m) and “SHOALWAY” (LOA 97.7m), along with the the plough dredgers “OBERVARGH” (LOA 15.3m) and “WILLCHALLENGE” (LOA 22.0m), with the support vessel “SMIT NEYLAND” (LOA 12.0m) which will carry out all necessary survey operations.
The maintenance dredging of the Portsmouth Harbour and its approach channels is expected to take place from 6 March – 3 April 2025.
