The Lake of the Woods Association (LOWA) is preparing for an important dredging project on Keatons Lake, scheduled to take place from March 10, 2025, through April 16, 2025.
This dredging project, located in Locust Grove, Virginia, is crucial for maintaining the long-term health and functionality of the lake by improving water quality, enhancing overall lake health, and reducing the risk of Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB).
At its March 1, 2025, meeting, the LOWA Board of Directors approved a contract with Harbor Dredge and Dock to dredge nine locations in Keatons Lake.
This effort will remove excess sediment buildup, helping to sustain a healthy aquatic environment.
