The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, recently completed dredging operations at Mattituck Harbor.

The project included removal of approximately 10,000 cubic yards of dredge material from the Mattituck Harbor.

The contractor, Seacoast Construction of New York, worked to maintain the Federal Navigation Channel at 7 feet deep, 100 feet wide at the entrance and 80 feet wide.

The will improve safety and navigation for recreational and commercial boaters in the area. The harbor serves as a refuge for vessels during severe storms and is home to several commercial marinas and recreational boating facilities.
