The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that annual maintenance dredging of the Jacksonville Harbor Federal Navigation Channel is set to begin in mid-March 2025.

The $25 million contract was awarded to Cashman Dredging & Marine Contracting Co., LLC on December 16, 2024.

The federally-authorized Jacksonville Harbor navigation project provides deep draft vessels access to terminal facilities located within the city of Jacksonville, Florida in coordination with the projects non-Federal sponsor, the Jacksonville Port Authority.

The project, as currently authorized, provides for annual operations & maintenance of the existing channel depth of 47 feet mean lower low water (MLLW) from the ocean entrance to the Dames Point Terminals at River Mile 13, then 40 feet MLLW through River Mile 20 at Talleyrand Marine Terminal and 34 feet MLLW in Cuts F/G of the West Blount Island Channel.
